A house of books
Her shelves bent under novels and old volumes. Between their covers lay Persia as she imagined it: courtyards where fountains argued softly with the nightingales, domes tiled in turquoise and gold, pomegranates split open on silver trays, and poets who spoke of love as if it were weather.
She read the way others breathe. Hafez at dawn, Saadi's gardens at noon, Rumi by lamplight, and the long romances of Nizami until the candle surrendered. By the time she closed a book, the room around her had changed colour.
جس نے خواب پڑھے، اُس نے خواب بُنے
She who read dreams went on to weave them.
